DISTRIBUTION:

Eumorpha strenua (wingspan: approximately 105mm) flies in
Haiti;
Cuba; and the
Dominican Republic.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Eumorpha strenua adults are on the wing in May-June and probably in other months.

Eumorpha strenua larvae probably feed upon grapes.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Pupae wiggle to surface just prior to eclosion. Females call at night, and males fly into the wind to pick up and track the pheromone plume.
