DISTRIBUTION:

Perigonia pittieri (forwing length: males: 24-27mm; females: 29mm) (wingpan: 60-65mm) moths fly in
Venezuela: Aragua;
French Guiana; and
northeastern Brazil. It is found as far north and west as Panama so I expect it also flies in Colombia, Suriname and Guyana.

Perigonia pittieri is very similar to Perigonia stulta but pittiri's forewing outer margin is more evenly curved (not crenulated as in [some] Perigonia stulta) and the apex is obtuse instead of acute. The forewing pattern is less contrasting and more uniform than in Perigonia stulta, and the antemedian band is straight or only slightly curved. CATE
